Second Date

I really enjoyed my first experience with Domaine Gresser, so when I saw this on the shelf the other day, I had to pick it up.

As you can see, we've moved from red to white, from Pinot Noir to Riesling, and from Brandhof (on Limestone) to Kritt (on gravelly soils). What hasn't changed is the quality of the wine, as this is delicious. I should add that it's completely dry, so all of you Zuckerfaschisten should be able to enjoy it as well.

2007 Domaine Gresser Riesling Kritt: Vividly rocky on the nose, with a bit of the musky smell you get when you smell the outside of a good peach. In the mouth, this has a dense, stony core decorated with glimmers of lychee and white grape. Fun and deep at the same time, much like the last one.

nathan: "..A stony core decorated with glimmers of lychee and white grape"?  No wonder you love Thiese and his manifestos. (Me too.)

And Slaton's right, zuckerfaschisten automatically qualifies this for post of the year.

subnaught: Thanks guys. I've never received a "best * of the year" award after the second week of January, so this is really special.
